Exceeding expectations - How we can save you money

Fully Independent Lloyd’s Broker

We believe in putting our clients first and can help you to find the right policy at the right price.

Cavendish Munro is a specialist professional indemnity insurance broker based in The City, London’s world centre for insurance. All of our staff are based in our offices at St Katharine Docks, giving us easy access to the huge range of insurers within walking distance.

Cavendish Munro are part of Brown & Brown Inc, one of the UK’s largest independent insurance intermediary groups. Brown & Brown comprises a national network of personal, SME and middle-market insurance brokers, leading Lloyd’s and London market insurance brokers, and an Underwriting Division providing a range of specialist and niche insurance products.

Brown & Brown supports our business by providing access to strong insurance partnerships, enhanced insurance products, risk management resources, and the expertise of over 14000 insurance professionals worldwide. To find out more, visit www.bbrown.com/eu/

Over the years, we have listened to what clients want and built our business to satisfy those needs as closely as possible:

We have clients spread across the length and breadth of the UK and it would not be possible to be local to all of them! It therefore makes more sense for us to be located in The City, where most insurers have their head offices, enabling us to do much of our broking face to face with underwriters, which we believe is the best way to negotiate the best prices.

However, our location does not prevent our brokers from travelling all over the country to meet clients. So whether it is to help us find out more about them and use this information to negotiate more competitive terms or simply so they can put a face to name, we will be happy to help.

We are fully aware of the importance of professional indemnity insurance to your business and are experts in our field. Whilst the subject may be complex at times, we do not see that it should necessarily make the process of buying it highly complicated. We like to keep things as simple as possible, avoiding the use of jargon and providing clear forms for you to complete where necessary, which are designed to take up as little of your time as possible.

Many brokers will claim to be “independent” on the basis that they are not in any way owned by an insurer. However, they may only have access to a very limited number of insurers (or just one!) and are, in effect, selling on their behalf, as opposed to working on their clients’ behalf to find them the right deal in the marketplace. We do not believe in this approach and perform an appropriate market exercise for each client, every year, whether it be a new enquiry or a firm we have dealt with for many years.

In dealing with a wide range of insurers, as well as being a Lloyd’s broker, we are often able to obtain insurance for firms who have had problems securing cover elsewhere. As well as being specialists, we often simply have more options to go to than many other brokers.

All of our clients are dealt with by individual brokers here in our office. We firmly believe that our clients should deal with an actual broker who will broker their risk in the market, as opposed to an account handler who deals with the client and a separate “placing broker” who deals with the insurers. We feel that this other approach is not as effective, as it means that the client may not be dealing with a specialist in PI insurance, exposing them to the possibility of something being missed.

We have an in-house claims team who assist in the presentation of your claims to Insurers and experts on-hand to answer any insurance related questions you may have regarding contracts you are being asked to sign or collateral warranties and the like.

Having access to the world’s largest insurance market enables us to approach insurers to which many brokers simply do not have access, as only Lloyd’s brokers have permission. As well as being highly prestigious (there are only around 180 Lloyd’s brokers worldwide, across all lines of business!), it gives us a wider range of options, which can be vital when dealing with larger or more complicated cases.

As this is only a brief overview, if you would like to find out more about us or find out if we can be of service, please call us on 020 7264 0545 or email us at enquiries@cavendishmunro.com

Alternatively, simply send us a copy of any proposal form you have filled in (you can find our versions here or we can usually work from a form you have completed for your own broker) and one of our brokers will be in touch within 24 hours to help you save money on this year’s renewal.
