All Chartered Surveyors are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). RICS regulates and governs the profession (there are however some Surveyors who operate outside RICS who can be involved in a wide spectrum of work.)

Asbestos
Work relating to asbestos has caused difficulties within the insurance market, with most insurers wanting nothing less than total exclusion.
